at 7:30 a.m., Pol. Col. Phatthanachai Palasuwan, Superintendent of Nong Chik Police Station, received a report of an explosion at Don Yang Intersection, along Highway 43 before reaching the Bangchak gas station, on the way up to Hat Yai, Nong Chik District, Pattani Province. Initial reports indicate that the blast injured four police officers, two of whom were seriously injured and were taken to hospital.
